Sits on granite surface Edward Diehl ATLAS UM Site Review June 1, 2000 The BCAL is a device developed by Brandeis for doing precision surveying. A single?mode laser strikes a CCD in a precision fixture. The image centroid gives a precise position (±1 mm) in the 2 coordinates perpendicular to the beam . Measurement is fast, easy, and reproducible with computer read out and analysis. We have 2 CCD mounts: one for granite and one for comb measurements.
