| Abstract: | - Overall ATLAS muon identification, momentum meaurement and physics reach is enhanced when the spectrometer data are analyzed in combination with the inner detector and calorimetry.
- For example, the identification and measurement of low $P_t$ muons from J/psi decays is possible via the inner tracker track reconstruction for momentum measurement combined with the muon spectrometer for triggering and particle identification.
- The abundance of W,Z boson generation in ATLAS enables a detailed tomography of the ATLAS detector and understanding of detector artifacts such as energy losses, identification efficiency, the impact of muon isolation requirements, alignment and momentum calibration.
